A member-driven campaign for citizen government

Career politiciansare the problem. The answer is Us.

Us backs Californians who run for office, govern, and step aside. Every candidate we support has signed the Pledge for a New Public Service.

I will not run for re-election.

I will not run for any other office while serving.

I will never run again after 10 years total in elected office.

Every candidate Us supports has signed it.the pledge
The problem

The careerist class.

Being an elected official should not be a lifetime appointment. But our positions of public trust are now occupied by career politicians who prioritize keeping their job over doing their job. Solving our state's problems means making "serve and step aside" the rule, not the exception.

Why this matters
How it works

Win. Govern. Step aside.

Us backs candidates who agree, in writing, to three things: no re-election; no seeking another office while serving; and no more elections after 10 years in any office. We help everyday people win, do good, and go home.

  1. Pledge

Sign it before anything else: no re-election; no seeking another office while serving; no more than 10 years total in elected office.

  2. Apply

Apply to be backed by Us. We target races based on the seat and the moment. Then our members decide the endorsement.

  3. Run

File the paperwork, build your team, and launch your campaign. You run your own race, and we add our support.

  4. Win

Us independently campaigns to elect our endorsed candidates. We fund the campaign entirely by member dues.

  5. Govern. Then home.

Ignore fundraising. Ignore lobbyists. Serve the public. Make lives better. Then honor your pledge.

What we do
What your dues fund

A campaign that respects you.

Member dues allow us to promise a political operation that never spams you, manipulates you, or sells your data. Your dues fund:

  • Persuading neighbors

We share our endorsed candidates' stories and visions directly with voters, through digital marketing, direct mail, events, and face-to-face conversations.

  • Getting out the vote

We organize virtual and in-person canvassing events — with a level of sophistication usually reserved for larger campaigns — to help our candidates win.

  • Helping winners govern

Members can propose, discuss, and refine ideas for elected officials to choose from. A volunteer think tank to help officials make the most of their time in office.

  • Staying present in the community

We engage voters year-round with outreach, surveys, news, and events. We help people come together to solve problems. We believe trust is earned, not owed.

No more dialing for dollars

A government that does its job.

Career politicians are thinking about re-election as soon as they take office. Nearly half their time can be spent fundraising. Us-backed candidates are focused on the work. The day they sit down at the desk is the first day of governing, not fundraising.

What the public suspects, and tuned-in political observers actually know, is that elected officials spend a lot of their time trying to raise money.
